Support for the Women in our Community

Provincial and Federal Governments have cut funding for Women's Centres in recent years. Our Centre is only able to apply for funding to support specific programs only. We do not receive funding for our day to day operations. Our centre relies heavily on the support of the community via donations, monthly/yearly membership donation and volunteering.

We are inviting you to become an important part of maintaining and expanding the Fort St. John Women's Resource Society and Centre by:

• Become a member of the society;
  
• Make a cash donation;
  
• Donate Nonperishable Food Items, Clothing, Household Items
  and/or Hygiene Products etc.
  
• Volunteering your time.

Fundraising Goals

The Fort St. John Women's Resource Society has been very active in the community over the years. Some of our accomplishments include:

• Teen Mom Daycare
• Safety Plan
• Community Needs Assessments
• Alcohol and Drug Assessment Program
• Community Connections Conference
• Assaultive Men's Program
• Skye's Place Second Stage Housing
• Poverty Law Advocacy

Board members, staff and volunteers are always on the lookout for new ideas and ways to fund the ideas to make them a reality. In the meantime we want to continue to offer current services. Some of the needs for funding include:

• Operational Funding for the Centre
• Educational Workshops
• Ground Improvements for Skye's Place
• Security Improvements for Skye's Place
